PAYMENT

Payment is expected at time of service. If you have insurance you will be expected to make an estimated payment for that portion not covered by your insurance plan. For that portion of costs not covered by insurance, we offer several payment options:

  • Cash
  • Credit Card
    • We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express
  • Care Credit is offered for large treatment plans.

INSURANCE

Dental insurance is an agreement between you, your employer, and the insurance provider. We are not involved in that contract. It is important to note that dental insurance is not designed to cover all expenses but rather to assist with your investment in your child’s oral health. Most plans typically cover around 50% of the average costs, which may not fully cover the ideal treatment needed for your child’s care. Coverage amounts can vary. Some plans pay more, others pay less. Unfortunately, not all necessary procedures are covered by insurance, even if they are essential for your child’s health. We are dedicated to recommending the best treatment options for your child. We will treat them as if they were ours!

Usual, Customary, or Reasonable Fees (UCR) is a term used by insurance providers to describe the amount they choose to pay for each procedure. This amount is not based on the average fees charged by specialists in Sonoma County, but rather the maximum amount the insurance company wants to reimburse.

As a courtesy to you, we will bill your insurance company and track claims. We do our best to estimate your portion, but again, please be aware that most dental insurances do not cover all dental costs. Most plans have deductibles, co-payments, and other non-covered expenses which are paid at time of service. Please review your specific dental benefits before your appointment, as benefits vary from plan to plan. Please keep us informed of any changes to your insurance plan. You are responsible for the fees charged by our office regardless of your insurance coverage. Most insurance companies should respond to the claim within 30 days. Any remaining cost is your responsibility. We are here to help. Please call for more information about financing your oral health needs in our office.
