Digital Technology

Our office strives to stay current as advances in dental technology occur. Two areas that directly affect your child’s dental care are: digital intraoral x-rays and digital panoramic x-rays.

DIGITAL PANORAMIC X-RAYS

Panoramic x-rays allow the dentist to view all the developing primary and permanent teeth plus surrounding bony structures.

A computer generated picture is usually taken at age 6 to view permanent tooth development and again later to view their developing occlusion and or wisdom teeth.

DIGITAL INTRAORAL X-RAYS

In an effort to drastically reduce the time of exposure to x-ray radiation we replaced our film based system. We now use computer generated digital x-rays that require ¼ the amount of radiation that film x-rays require. Digital x-rays can be instantly viewed on our computer screen. This large screen format gives the parents, patient, and dentist an opportunity to easily view and discuss tooth development, growth and dental abnormalities.
